One of Grant's new favorite things to do is blowing on things. Not just directing his breath at something, but putting his mouth on it and blowing as hard as he can, as many times as he can before stopping to breathe deeply. His favorite place to do this is on his high chair (thank goodness it's an easily cleanable surface). He slouches down with the tray up to his arm pits and lays his head to the side like he's bored out of his mind. Once the lack of noise attracts the attention of one or both of his parental units, he leans face down on the tray and blows, making whatever noise he can and soaking most of the tray. Of course afterwards he looks around with a triumphant grin on his face to make sure we saw the whole thing.
He has also discovered the world that is created by throwing his blankets over his head. He will crawl in and out of the covers on the bed for a good 15-20 minutes before tiring.
He has taken quite an interest in our shower door. He will smush his nose and mouth on one side of the glass while laughing, then wait for you to do the same. (Cullen cover your eyes) I can't keep myself from doing it back at him even though I know that even a clean shower door is still a SHOWER DOOR!
Yesterday at church, I took him out of Sacrament Meeting to nurse him and then when he was through, I held the door open for him and he walked out of the mothers room by himself. I then took his hand and we walked (slowly) into the chapel and back to our seats. I've never pictured doing that for the first time, but it was a sweet little moment.
I love all these things that I've never imagined, but still get to enjoy. Each day that I get to spend with our little Grant helps me understand exactly why Heavenly Father sent us here to live through this. It's not just about enduring. There is so much joy to be had! Much love to you all!
